When I first saw the theme "good vs evil" I thought of angels/devils, white/black, yin/yang and so on but I guess that would've made me loose the "originality" points on the spot lol ... so I moved on to something you always hear when parents try to justify their actions to their kids: "This is what's good for you", "I only want what's good for you" or "I'm doing this for your own good" and though these phrases are often spoken from the heart, the road to hell is paved with good intentions.
This picture is symbolic, it can be interpreted in several ways.

I doubt it is, but for some reason I am reminded of the Holocaust. Like the father is a Nazi head/warden of a camp, and is telling his son that what he is doing is for the best. Outside, the son is accepting of his father's words, and his father is a loyal National Socialist. Inside, his son wants to run as far away from this hell as he can (and bring maybe stop his father by having him run away as well), and the father actually deeply ashamed and horrified by his actions, and can not even bring himself to look at his own son out of guilt/shame.
