Little idea for you to try if you like- perhaps adding a very light scuff to the bottom of his shoe (not the heal, the bottom) for a little texture right where the slope of the arch meets the front of the sole- that's usually the first part to get scuffed (at least that I've noticed on my father's shoes). You could also tinker with a slightly bolder shadow on the bottom of her arm that's lifted, though it's tricky, with all the various light sources.
